'Hliebci': bread and tales of the night of the dead

Tradition, Memory, and Flavor in the Natisone Valleys

From 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

In the heart of the Natisone Valleys, All Saints’ Day is still celebrated through age-old community rituals. Join us in discovering the custom of the hliebac – a small, round white bread shared as a symbol of prayer.

We’ll knead and shape our own hliebac at the La Gubana della Nonna lab, then gather to hear stories and memories from the past, shared by Marina Cernetig and Ada Tomasetig, devoted guardians of local traditions.

Once the dough has risen, we’ll bake our breads and take them home to share with our families.

We’ll close the afternoon with Bruna’s unique “reverse tasting” experience: wines from Flaibani wines meet the sweet treats of La Gubana della Nonna and organic cheeses from Elisa Manig’s farm. A flavorful journey where Bruna from Flaibani wines will guide us in discovering the harmony created when food and wine come together.
