With the arrival of autumn, getting up at dawn becomes harder — yet beginning the day with a short and focused meditation is an opportunity, not a burden.
At the end of the practice, a cup of hot tea and something good to eat will restore us, and we’ll return home with grace and gratitude, ready for a new day.
Those who wish to discover what meditation truly is, how to practice it sincerely and properly, and to find the techniques best suited to themselves, may do so in a monastic and simple environment, where joy and peace are cultivated, and happiness is wished for all beings.
The mind, or consciousness, lies at the heart of the meditative theory and practice developed over the past 2,500 years to transcend dissatisfaction and reach peace. It constantly changes, like a stream of water, encompassing thoughts, emotions, memories, and dreams. Taming it is a slow and gradual process: to meditate means to listen with compassion to one’s own psyche and to become familiar with the mind.
The practice will begin in a seated position, but over time we will learn to experience fullness in every moment.
The event is donation-based, relying on the generosity of participants. Advance registration by e-mail is required to keep the group small and focused.
