Albana/Ibana – Cividale del Friuli/Čedad
Accompanied by the person who designed the Path of the 44 Votive Churches of the Natisone Valleys, with this tenth stage – to which variant A will be added – we conclude the journey along the trail that has, step by step, revealed the route to us.
Only a few gentle hills now separate us from the circular path starting in Cividale del Friuli. Through a pleasant up-and-down across the hills, we will reconnect with the Alpe Adria Trail, following it along streams and vineyards through the countryside. We’ll reach the hamlet of Cialla, skirt the last hills, and arrive at the outskirts of the ducal town, cross the Natisone River, and complete the trail at the Christian Museum in Cividale.
We’ll visit the votive chapels Santo Spirito in Albana and Sant’Ermacora and Fortunato in Cialla.
Program:
- 08:30 – Meeting at the parking lot of the former Cividale del Friuli train station and transfer to Prepotto/Prapotno.
- 16:00 – Return to Cividale del Friuli.

- The organization provides two transfers from Cividale to the starting point in Prepotto.
- Bring your own packed lunch.
- The hike follows trails without technical climbing difficulties, but a basic level of fitness is recommended.
- The route runs along roads and paths.
- Distance: 15.4 km.
- Elevation gain/loss: approx. +210 m / –180 m.
- Well-behaved dogs are welcome.
