Play in the local Slovenian dialect on International Women's Day
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Beneško gledališče warmly invites you to a special theatrical and social gathering dedicated to the memory of Bruno Dorbolo’ and the Association of the Women of the Natisone Valleys.
This year, we will honor Bruna with deep respect and gratitude for her invaluable work with the Women’s Association. We will also pay tribute in a symbolic way: the event will take place in the former Hobles factory — now Agri.Val. (in Azzida/Ažla) — just as it did in 1978, when the Women of the Valleys and the newly founded Association were denied a public venue for their first meeting and gathered in the factory instead.
For this occasion, Beneško gledališče will revive the play first staged in 1978, “Tonina Drejova.” This year’s production, titled “Tonina Drejova donas,” is adapted and directed by Marina Cernetig.
Performers include: Anna Iussa, Anna Bernich, Anita Tomasetig, Erika Balus, Franco Qualizza, and Luigi Chiabai.
Assistant Director: Emanuela Cicigoi.
In the first part of the program, young women from the Valleys will share reflections on the strength of the flower and the strength of women — exploring themes of symbolism, resilience, and creativity.
The evening will be hosted by Igor Černo and Ivan Blasutto.
We look forward to coming together to mark this meaningful day, reflect on the past, and move forward with the strength of community.
