Location: Via Tamor 24, Uccea/Učja, 33010 Resia/Rezija (UD)
Autumn colors are beginning to brighten the forests, and we’re kicking off the fall season of the hiking series organized by the Ecomuseum of the Resia Valley.
For this outing, we’ll cross the Chila ridge and descend to the small village of Uccea/Učja From there, we’ll explore a new route that climbs through woodlands and pastures to Malicuc mountain pasture, followed by Ta Po Zormi.
Both mountain settlements overlook the village and offer beautiful panoramic views. From the higher of the two, we’ll be able to see the saddle at Sant’Anna di Carnizza, which towers above a deep valley gorge now reclaimed by vegetation.
After retracing part of our route, we’ll set off on a loop trail that will take us through some of the area’s most distinctive hamlets.
Back at our starting point, we’ll keep up the tradition of gathering for a cheerful moment together over freshly roasted chestnuts. The trail has no technical difficulties and is enjoyable, yet fascinating for its rugged, untamed character.
