Youth at the Top is a project that mobilizes groups of young people in parks and nature reserves throughout the Alps, from Monaco to Slovenia. The initiative is promoted by Alparc, the Alpine Protected Areas Network, and is now in its 10th year.
The Julian Prealps Nature Park is also participating in this edition, as in past ones, by offering an initiative that will take place on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 on the theme "Alpine Flowers and Pollinating Insects." Young participants who wish to take part in the day will be accompanied by experts who will introduce them to the magical flora of Mount Canin and the importance of pollinators in the lives of us all.
Participation is free and aimed at all young people between the ages of 15 and 19.
Program:
09.30 Meeting in Sella Nevea (Chiusaforte) at the Canin gondola and ascent by cable car (Piazzale Slovenia 1, 33010 Sella Nevea, Chiusaforte)
10 a.m. Hike on the Bila Peč - Mirabila botanical trail on the slopes of Mount Canin in the Julian Pre-Alps Nature Park
13.30 Lunch at the Refuge C. Gilberti
3 p.m. Descent by cable car, followed by bugs hotel construction workshop at the Ai Poli multipurpose center in Sella Nevea
16.30 End of activity
