Have you tried 'briza' or 'župa malonova' yet? Made with 'malon', 'batuda' (sour milk) and beans or potatoes, this soup is a heritage of the culinary tradition of the Natisone Valleys. You can find it on some of Invitation to Lunch menus through December 8, so don't miss the chance to pay a visit to Benečija and taste it.

The 'malon', the main ingredient in the 'briza' or, indeed, 'župa malonova' named after it, is a variety of pumpkin that grows in the Natisone Valleys and which the Slow Food Travel Valli del Natisone e Torre Community has ensured became a Slow Food Presidium.

In the video below, our Caterina from the La Casa Delle Rondin farmhouse, as well as entrepreneur of the association Le Donne della Benečija aggregation and urestaurateur of Invitation to Lunch talks about the malon in an interview held at the Terra Madre - Salone del Gusto fair in Turin in which we also participated along with the other Slow Food Travel Valli del Natisone e Torre Community operators.
