A pass that joins Valle di Uccea with Val Resia.
Sella Carnizza is a pass connecting the two valleys that make up the municipality of Resia and the Resian dialect area, namely the Valle di Uccea, to the south, and Val Resia, to the north. On the pass stands Gnivizza, a village of alpine pastures, traditionally used and inhabited in the summer when the cattle were taken up the mountain pastures and left again when they were brought back to the stables at the bottom of the valley at the end of the warm season. From Gnivizza, a flat route of about a quarter of an hour leads to the Church of Sant’Anna di Carnizza.
