Location: Vartacia/Vartača 33040, Savogna/Sovodnja (UD)
“Guidàti nella Meraviglia” arrives in the Natisone Valleys with guide Maria Trevisi.
Spend a summer afternoon discovering the Natisone Valleys, their history, and their rich local traditions. We'll end the day with a truly special evening immersed in folk culture by taking part in the traditional Rožinca celebration in Montemaggiore, where age-old customs still preserve the fragrance of flowers, medicinal herbs, and authentic local heritage.
Our afternoon begins in the Municipality of Savogna, where we'll meet in the parking area at Vartacia/Vartača (Tercimonte/Tarčmun 1, Savogna/Sovodnja).
From there, we'll drive our own vehicles to nearby Tercimonte/Tarčmun (about 5 minutes), where the Church of St. John the Baptist will be opened exclusively for our group. Its simple elegance reflects centuries of spirituality, while offering beautiful views of Mount Matajur.
We'll then continue by car to Masseris/Mašera to visit the Matajur Museum, the perfect place to explore the culture and traditions of this unique corner of the region.
Those who wish may continue on to Montemaggiore/Matajur, where we'll join the local community for the traditional blessing of bouquets made with medicinal herbs and wild plants.
Guests are also welcome to stay for dinner at the local festival food stands.
Organized in collaboration with DMO Turismo Benečija, the Matajur Museum in Masseris, and the communities of the Natisone Valleys.
