Stolvizza/Solbica Invites You to Celebrate Fall with Nature, Community, and Local Traditions!
Join us in Stolvizza/Solbica for “Vivi-Amo l’autunno,” a day celebrating the natural beauty, warm hospitality, and traditions of the Resia/Rezija Valley.
As part of the event, we’ll come together to mark the symbolic seasonal closing of the trails maintained by the ViviStolvizza APS Association. Local guides and volunteers will lead hikes through the area, giving visitors the chance to experience the vibrant fall colors, beautiful landscapes, and hidden gems of Stolvizza/Solbica.
It’s a day to slow down and enjoy the simple things: scenic walks, friendly faces, music, local flavors, and time-honored traditions. Come experience fall with us!
Program:
- 8:30 AM – Meet at Piazza dell'Arrotino in Stolvizza/Solbica.
- 9:00 AM – Guided hikes begin with local volunteers along the trails maintained by the ViviStolvizza APS Association, marking their symbolic seasonal closing.
- Starting at 9:30 AM – “Let’s Get Sharpening!” Join the knife grinders of the Resia/Rezija Valley at the Knife Grinder’s Museum for a traditional sharpening workshop. Bring your own knives and tools to be sharpened and help keep this centuries-old local craft alive.
- 12:00 PM – A festive gathering and refreshments for all hikers, featuring the “Bruschetta of Friendship.”
- Afterward, stick around for a cheerful chestnut roast, accompanied by traditional Resian music and dancing.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore the village’s two museums: the Museum of the People of the Resian Valley and the Knife Grinder’s Museum.
What to bring: for the hike, please wear sturdy hiking shoes and bring trekking poles and a water bottle.
The trails will reopen on April 4, 2027.
In the event of bad weather, the event will be canceled.
