Luigi Moderiano (Platischis, 1953) is a painter from Platischis who emigrated as a young man to Milan, where he attended the Accademia di Brera. A number of his frescoes can be visited in the village and its surroundings, such as 'Stari Malen - The Old Mill', on the wall of a house near the Osteria da Sedola, 'The Wolves' Den' on a wall of the Il Bosco delle Rune B&B, 'The Reapers', on the wall of the former barracks at the end of the village. In addition, a number of angels adorn the vault of a votive chapel, while the parish church of Platischis and also that of the neighbouring village of Montemaggiore feature more structured frescoes with biblical themes.

Moderian's book 'Orlojəč an druge pravəce - The Little Clock and Other Stories' (2017), which recounts some stories and fairy tales that were told in Platischis during his childhood, alongside some ink illustrations, is also worth mentioning. The illustrations are accompanied by captions in the Slovene dialect of Platischis, with translation into both Italian and literary Slovene.
