A true place with memory within the municipality of Taipana, the Prossenicco 'Testimonianze della civilta’ contadina” (Testimonies of Rural Civilisation') is part of the MISMOTU museum network. The museum is located in the premises of the Prossenicco rectory and, in addition to everyday objects from the past, has a rich collection of masks from the local version of Pust, the traditional Slovenian carnival. Characteristic masks of the place are the Pejoner, the Plehutar, the Tabar, the 'te liepe' (beautiful masks) and the 'te garde' (ugly masks) as well as, of course, that of the Pust, who is put on trial in Prossenicco for misdeeds committed during the previous year. A short distance from the museum is the Black Kitchen, another iconic place in Prossenicco.
