The most characteristic legacy of the Middle Ages, in terms of widespread monumental heritage, is represented by the castles that proliferated especially from the 10th century, profoundly changing the landscape and the way the territory was organized. The Attimis Museum was created with the aim of telling the story of the castles located in a large sector of the Julian Pre-Alps through an exhibition itinerary rich in archaeological finds, replicas and educational aids. School groups can supplement the museum experience with thematic tours, workshops and guided excursions to the main castles in the Attimis municipal area. Guided tours of Partistagno Castle, which has recently been restored and made accessible to the public, can also be booked at any time of the year.
