Refosco di Faedis is one of the red wines produced in Benečija, in the piedmont area between Torreano/Tavorjana and Tarcento/Čenta.
Already produced in all likelihood in Roman times, its first modern mentions date back to the 18th century. In 2011, the "Refosco di Faedis" subarea was recognized between the Friuli Colli Orientali DOC (controlled designation of origin) appellation.
This wine is characterized by a purplish-red colour, fruity notes, and a high tannin content, and is perfect with red meat and many local dishes.
