Small museum in the village of Masseris, on the slopes of Matajur, which accurately describes what mountain life was like.
The collection of the Matajur Museum highlights everyday aspects of life on the slopes of Matajur. The Gorcova house in Masseris preserves, among other things, two panniers that were used for itinerant trade 'from Venetian Schiavonia to Ongheria' and beyond. The blacksmith's workshop in Masseris has been preserved as it was left in the 1950s, thanks to Valentino Dus. Michele Dus (1889 -1951) was the last blacksmith.
The Museum is part of the MISMOTU museum network, which has as its objectives the dissemination of traditions linked to the rural past and the preservation of Slovenian dialects originating on the Italian side of the Italian-Slovenian border.
